The Security Council meets this morning to discuss the situation in Central Africa, including efforts to combat the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA), one of the region’s longest-running security threats. Ambassadors are expected to hear an update on the work of the UN Regional Office for Central Africa (UNOCA) and the implementation of a regional strategy aimed at improving civilian protection, humanitarian access and cross-border cooperation.
